About Simply Singing

Simply Singing was founded in Brigg in September 2024 by local musician and Musical Director Simon Percy to create a welcoming choir where anyone can discover the joy of singing together without auditions, expectations or pressure to be perfect.

Singing for the pure joy of it

What makes Simply Singing special is our relaxed and genuinely welcoming atmosphere. You do not need any previous experience, and you never need to read sheet music—lyrics are provided, songs are learned together, and everyone participates at their own pace. We offer both afternoon and evening rehearsal times to suit your schedule, and taking part in public performances is completely optional.

Music for everyone to enjoy

We sing an uplifting, eclectic mixture of styles, including popular hits, musical theatre, soul, rock, country, classical gems and seasonal favourites. Our repertoire changes each term, and our members are always welcome to suggest their favourite songs. With printed words provided and music learned together, there are no auditions and no barriers to getting involved.

Simon Percy

Founder & Musical Director

Simply Singing is led by its founder and Musical Director, Simon Percy. A lifelong musician, Simon holds Grade 8 qualifications in singing, piano, trombone and music theory, as well as a music degree from the University of Reading.

Simon has around 25 years of experience as a Musical Director and currently works with several musical theatre groups across Lincolnshire. He has also performed with theatre orchestras, brass bands and wind bands in the UK and internationally.

What matters most at Simply Singing is how Simon brings that experience into the rehearsal room. His supportive and encouraging approach helps singers feel comfortable, develop their confidence and enjoy making music together. Rehearsals combine experienced musical direction with warmth, humour and a genuine belief that singing should be enjoyable for everyone.
